A couple friends and I visited Vancouver for a weekend in November, and we happened upon Laura-Kay Prophet, aka the Vancouver Duck Lady.  This is her website here.  She provides food and money to homeless people and can be seen walking around Granville street often with her ducks, which have each had different miracle abilities.
